Le 1s to Be Available Without Registrations Starting February 25

LeEco (short for Le Ecosystem) has announced that the Le 1s smartphone will be available without registrations in India starting next Thursday, or February 25. As before, the Le 1s will be available via Flipkart, the exclusive online retail partner of LeEco.
Additionally, the Chinese company also announced that it will commemorate February 25 as the LeEco Day where it will offer products worth up to Rs. 8 crores. LeEco (the company formerly known as Letv), as reported earlier, has so far received an impressive response in flash sales for the Le 1s, priced at Rs. 10,999, smartphone. The company shared some details saying that it received over 20 lakh registrations across the last three flash sales for the Le 1s while it managed to sell more than 2 lakh units of the handset.
The company also re-confirmed plans to add a content ecosystem to its Android-based EUI offering in the second quarter of 2016. LeEco so far has confirmed Eros and Yupp TV as the content partners for the Indian market.

Commenting on the announcement, LeEco’s Atul Jain , COO Smart Electronics Business said, “We are humbled by the consumers’ response to our Superphones in the flash sales . We recognise that there is a huge pent up demand for our flagship killer – Le 1s and the super-premium Le Max, which has been the prime motivator for us to come up with this LeEco Day. We are confident that this innovative shopping carnival will witness unprecedented popularity among consumers”.
To recall Le 1s’ specifications, the smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based EUI 5.5 UI. It features a fingerprint scanner at the back, just below the primary camera and also supports a reversible USB Type-C with fast-charging SpeedVolt technology that can offer 3.5 hours of playback on a charge of just 5 minutes.

Other specifications of the Letv Le 1s include 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) ISP display; 3GB of RAM; 32GB of inbuilt storage, and supports dual-SIM (Micro + Nano-SIM). For camera, the handset sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera as well on board. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, Micro-USB, 3G, and 4G LTE. The handset measures 151.1×74.2×7.5mm and weighs 169 grams. The Le 1s is backed by a 3000mAh battery. It packs an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, a magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.
