Nokia 6 International Launch Imminent? Nokia's Android Phone Spotted on Certification Site

With the launch of Nokia 6 smartphone last month, Nokia made an official comeback into the smartphone world. At that time, the Nokia 6 was only sold in China, and no information on its availability in international market was known. The Nokia 6 was recently spotted on eBay India where it was being sold unofficially, but now a new development hints that the Nokia 6 global launch may not be far away.

According to a report by NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 6 global variant with the model number TA-1003 was certified in Taiwan. The same Nokia 6 model number was recently spotted on Bluetooth certification site and GFXBench as well. This is thought to be testimony enough that the Nokia 6 global variant is in the offing. The listed Nokia device supports LTE, GSM, and CDMA, making it compatible with networks worldwide. A recent report had also said that Nokia 6 global release will be announced at Nokia’s MWC 2017 event.

Apart from that, all the other specifications of the Nokia 6 global variant and China model remain the same. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass, and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM Nokia 6 smartphone comes with a 3000mAh non-removable battery and fast-charging support. As for optics, Nokia 6 comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and dual-tone flash, as well as an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Android 7.0 Nougat-based Nokia 6 smartphone has USB 2.0 port for connectivity, fingerprint sensor in the front, stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos audio enhancement.

The mid-range Nokia 6 smartphone has been priced at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,000), rather high considering the specifications. It has been welcomed with open arms in China with the first sale getting over in under a minute.

As mentioned above, Nokia is going to host an event at MWC 2017, where it is expected to launch the Nokia P1, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and the reincarnation of the Nokia 3310.
