OnePlus 3's Dash Charge Feature Can Now Work With Custom ROMs

In June, Dash Charge functionality was introduced for the first time in a OnePlus smartphone with the launch of OnePlus 3. When the smartphone’s 3000mAh battery is charged via the Dash Charge adapter, is it said to charge up to 60 percent in 30 minutes. The phone’s fast-charging feature in particular was praised by a lot of phone critics. However, as the company did not release the kernel code for the Dash Charge right away, the feature could not be used with custom ROMs.

The company said that it would be releasing the kernel code for Dash Charge by the end of July and now it has. Now, the developers can finally get their hands on the kernel code required to give you the support for Dash Charge with their custom software.

Last week, OnePlus 3 received an official support for CyanogenMod 13, and nightly builds are now available for users to flash on their phones. As of now, as the company hadn’t yet released the kernel code, Dash Charging is not supported by the builds.

OnePlus 3 also received an update last week. The update for the OnePlus 3 carried with itself some useful improvements like better notification management in doze mode and disabled fingerprint sensor while in the pocket.

The OxygenOS 3.2.2 update also contained other improvements like added NFC toggle in quick settings, enhanced noise cancellation in video recording, and minor bug fixes.
