Samsung Galaxy S8 Will Have 6GB RAM, 256GB Inbuilt Storage, Says Report
After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung’s next flagship, Galaxy S8, will come bearing a lot of added expectations. Rumours have been ripe on what the Samsung Galaxy S8 will entail, and new leaks hint at its memory configuration and voice assistant additions.

The Galaxy S8 has already been rumoured to come with an artificial intelligence-based voice assistant. The assistant will reportedly have a male and female voice called Bixby and Kestra respectively. In an EU patent application description, the nature of Bixby and Kestra is clearly described as “Computer software for enabling hands-free use of a mobile phone through voice recognition” and “Computer software used to process voice commands.” Both these smart assistants are expected to debut with the Galaxy S8 launch in February next year.

Furthermore, Techtastic reports that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will sport 6GB of RAM. This is an upgrade from the 4GB RAM seen on predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S7. The Galaxy S8 is also rumoured to sport a 256GB storage variant. It is unclear whether this will be the only storage option, or one of the storage variants made available in the market. If Samsung follows tradition, then a separate microSD slot for further expansion of memory will also be offered with Galaxy S8. Just to put things into perspective, the predecessor was offered in 32GB and 64GB storage variants only.

Apart from this, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is tipped to sport a pressure sensitive display, an optical fingerprint sensor, improved camera, and come in two screen size variants – 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch. It is rumoured to sport a bezel-less 4K (2160×3840 pixels) Super AMOLED display with impressive pixel density of 806ppi. The Galaxy S8 smartphone is further expected to pack company’s own Exynos 8895 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. Rumours so far have claimed that Samsung will launch the alleged Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone on the side-lines of MWC 2017 in Barcelona on February 26.
