Media stocks traded higher on NSE in the afternoon trade on Thursday.
Shares of Dish TV India (up 8.28 per cent), Den Networks (up 4.91 per cent), Zee Entertainment EnterprisesNSE -0.64 % (up 4.78 per cent) and TV18 Broadcast (up 2.49 per cent) were the top gainers.
Zee Media Corporation (up 2.27 per cent), Network 18 Media & Investments (up 2.21 per cent), TV Today NetworkNSE -1.48 % (up 1.50 per cent), Sun TV Network (up 0.42 per cent) and PVR (up 0.15 per cent) were among other gainers on the index.
Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 4.30 per cent), Eros International Media (down 1.32 per cent), DB Corp (down 1.25 per cent) and Jagran Prakashan (down 1.19 per cent) were top losers on the index.
Inox Leisure (down 1.02 per cent) and Navneet Education (down 0.61 per cent ) were other losers in the index at around the same time.
The Nifty Media index was trading 1.96 per cent up at 1,755.9 around 02:32 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 43.90 points at 11316. BSE Sensex was down 181.47 points at 38,123.94.
Among the 50 stocks in Nifty index, 21 were trading in green, while 28 were in the red. Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, Zee Entertainment, RBL Bank and SAIL were among most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange.
