Alcatel at its pre-MWC 2016 keynote event launched the Idol 4 and the Idol 4S smartphones, apart from the Plus 10 tablet. The company however, is not yet done with the launches as it unveiled three new handsets under its Pop series – the Pop 4, the Pop 4+, and the Pop 4S. The three smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Company is yet to announce price and availability details.
The Alcatel Pop 4 is the smallest of all the three handsets. It features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution display with a pixel density of 293ppi. It packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1GHz, paired with 1GB RAM. It houses 8GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD (up to 32GB). Backed by a 2500mAh battery, the handsets features an 8-megapixel rear camera alongside a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 84.4-degree wide angle and LED flash assistance.
The Alcatel Pop 4+ sports a 5.5-inch HD display with pixel density of 267ppi. The smartphone includes a 1.5GB RAM and a 16GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 32GB). Rest of the specifications remain the same as the aforementioned Pop 4.
Lastly, the Alcatel Pop 4S houses a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display with pixel density of 400ppi. It is backed by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (four cores at 1.8GHz + four cores at 1GHz), clubbed with 2GB RAM. The smartphone features 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via a microSD card (up to 64GB). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabalisation). There is also wide-angle 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. It is backed by a 2960mAh battery and bears a fingerprint scanner as well.
While the Alcatel Pop 4 and the Pop 4+ feature 4G LTE (Cat. 4), the Pop 4S features 4G LTE (Cat. 6). All will come bundled with JBL headphones.
