LG India on Thursday sent out invites for the launch of its X screen smartphone in the country on Monday.
To recall, the LG X screen was first unveiled ahead of MWC 2016, alongside the LG X cam. The company began the global rollout of the X screen and X cam handsets back in March, but the former is only reaching India now.
The highlight of the LG X screen is its Always On display, similar to what we’ve seen on the LG V10 and the LG G5. The smartphone bears a 4.93-inch In-cell display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The second, 1.76-inch screen with a 520×80 pixel resolution sits right above the main display. The second screen will show notifications for apps, calls without interrupting the current activity or just play music. The second display also allows users check time, date, battery status and other notifications without ever having to turn on the phone.
The X screen is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor clubbed with a 2GB of RAM. It packs 16GB of inbuilt storage and is backed by a 2300mAh battery. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based handset measures 142.6×71.8×7.1mm and also supports 4G LTE connectivity. It will be available in Black, White, and Pink Gold colours.
