Samsung’s rumoured Z2 Tizen-based smartphone has finally got an anticipated launch day. The company over the weekend started sending media invites for an event on Tuesday where it is widely expected to unveil the Samsung Z2 Tizen-powered smartphone.
To recall, the alleged Z2 smartphone was leaked in a promotional video last week suggesting few new features. In the video, the Samsung Z2 was seen sporting a similar design as the Samsung Z3, which was confusingly the second handset to be launched in the company’s Tizen line up of smartphones.
Some of the design features seen in the purported video were textured rear panels and rear camera accompanied by LED flash. The video highlighted some of the notable features of the unannounced Samsung Z2 such as Ultra Data Saving Mode which has been lately seen on the company’s entire budget and mid-range smartphones. One of the biggest highlights of the Z2 was it supports 4G, which will make it the first Tizen-powered smartphone to support 4G LTE in the country.
Some of the preloaded apps rumoured to be present on the handset include My Money Transfer, which is said to be a new exclusive feature on the Tizen smartphone for the Indian market. The handset is expected to come pre-installed with WhatsApp and Telegram.
An earlier report claimed that the Samsung Z2 Tizen-powered smartphone may be priced at Rs. 4,499 and would come with a 4.5-inch display, 2000mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, dual-SIM support, and 4G with VoLTE support.
To refresh, Samsung back in January last year launched its first Tizen-based smartphone, the Samsung Z1, in India. In October, it launched its successor – the Samsung Z3. The Samsung Z2 will be the third smartphone in the company’s Tizen range.
