A month after launching the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM in India, the Taiwanese company realises that perhaps its smartphone would sell better with a cheaper price tag. HTC announced on Tuesday that it has slashed the retail price of the HTC Desire 728 (dual-SIM variant) in the country to Rs. 16,990.
Launched in India last month, the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM is a mid-range smartphone with LTE connectivity. The handset was launched at Rs. 17,990. Interestingly enough, the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM smartphone is available for purchase on e-commerce websites for even less than its revised price tag.
For a refresh, the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM sports a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6753 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. Other features of the smartphone include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It houses a 16GB built-in internal storage which can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.
The dual-SIM capable HTC Desire 728 offers 4G LTE TDD with support for Indian networks, 3G, and other standard connectivity features. The handset runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Sense UI custom skin. It has a 2800mAh battery, which the company says can last for up to 21 hours of talk time.
