iPhone 7 Launch Preparations: Apple Store Goes Offline

It’s the big Apple keynote day, and as is the case every year, Apple has stalled business just hours before the event. The Apple Online Store has gone offline, and it displays the “Please check back soon” message on its home page. Every year, Apple takes down its website just ahead of the launch to include the new products. This year, Apple is expected to launch the new iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, the Apple Watch 2, new AirPods, new Beats headphones, and the rollout details of the iOS 10.

The website currently reads, “We’ve got something special in store for you. And we can’t wait for you to see it. Please check back soon.” This clearly hints that Apple is updating its online store with the new product listings set to be announced in a few hours.

The most anticipated unveil is of the iPhone 7, finally putting all rumours to rest. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to sport minimal design changes. The antenna bands are pegged to shift to the edges, and the Home button is expected to lose its physical press. The new capacitive Home button will be pressure sensitive, and the camera on both the smartphones will see an upgrade. The iPhone 7 will see the addition of OIS, and the iPhone 7 Plus will get a dual camera setup. New storage options – 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB – are also expected to be announced, and the 3.5mm audio jack is heavily rumoured to be ditched.
The Apple Watch 2 is also expected to be unveiled at the event. The new variant will be thinner than the predecessor, and is expected to sport a larger battery as well as GPS connectivity. The event will begin at 10.30pm IST. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for live updates on all the announcements made by Apple.
