UNDER the umbrella of Shangri-La, the Kerry Hotel Pudong already has an established reputation for MICE due to the large meeting facilities in a five-star hotel in Shanghai. A stone’s throw from Century Park, this venue is situated in one of China’s most influential center for finance, science and technology, and the views are impeccable.

The Kerry Hotel Pudong has also freshened up its MICE game with a unique new set of whimsically dubbed attractions. As we all know, business conferences can tend to be a bit serious, but the Kerry Hotel offers just the right remedy for relaxation with its new “Work & Play” concept. Speaking to what sets it apart, Gregor Wateler, general manager of the hotel, puts it succinctly, “The Kerry Hotel is a lifestyle hotel.” With this in mind, the “Work & Play” concept is intended to add an extra life and style into the meeting.

With the new variety of collaborations and event spaces, we take the meetings to a new level. The hotel has revamped its menu to keep up with the distinctive and developing tastes of Shanghai business class. The menus for MICE groups originate from The COOK, The MEAT and The BREW three of our restaurants, focusing on healthy, natural and tasteful options.

In line with the new menus, Kerry has also updated the food presentation. Two new food trucks, “Beauty” and “Beast,” representing relaxing and energizing, are fully equipped and ready to park anywhere refreshments are needed. The hotel has also designed new coffee cups for meetings featuring the hotel’s emblematic marsupial, Kerry Kangaroo.

Beyond the buffet of new food options, a major pillar of the new “Work & Play” concept is the addition of the Kerry Dome. As the largest rentable rooftop space in Pudong, the Dome offers a sidelong glimpse at Century Park’s the leafy green, contrasted by the impressive modern skyline of Lujiazui. The terrace features a transparent indoor space which can accommodate up to 350 people, and an extensive outdoor area surrounding, making the Dome an ideal location for wedding receptions, cocktail parties or any other type of fancy gathering you might have in mind. Even more representative of the Kerry brand’s “Work & Play” vision are its newly redesigned meeting labs. Located on the third floor, these new spaces are equipped with high tables, block chairs, bean bags and yoga balls to provide a fun atmosphere for team building activities while encouraging a healthier lifestyle. It is an ideal space to incorporate the play element into work. Because a stressful environment can often stifle innovation and creativity, these new meeting spaces are designed to provide both a professional and relaxing atmosphere for the world’s forward-thinking individuals.

These new packages add a new set of facilities and services to an establishment already well-endowed for both work and play. Kerry Hotel Pudong boasts the largest and most flexible portfolio of hotel meeting and banquet facilities in the city, with more than 8,500 square meters of space spanning a total of 26 multi-purpose function rooms and two ballrooms. The Grand Shanghai Ballroom, 2,230 square meters large and with a ceiling as high as 9 meters, is the city’s largest pillar-free hotel ballroom. For added convenience, all meeting spaces are located on the same floor.

When it’s time to relax, Century Park, which is opposite to the hotel, is the place to rejuvenate the team members and offers vast spaces for team-building activities. Meanwhile, the 6,000sqm Kerry Sports, including an indoor swimming pool, spa, an outdoor upper deck and the adventure zone for kids, helps the team members to free the mind and energize the body.
